Project Controller (Mesa, Arizona) - 2 Positions Available

 

Project Controllers, sometimes referred to as Project Control Analysts, are responsible for working within all stages of project management. Their primary role is to work closely with project managers to ensure that all budgeting, scheduling and coordination processes run smoothly. They monitor the progress of a project to ensure that it is working within the confines of set deadlines and budget limitations and generate progress reports to managers. Project Controllers also make suggestions for improvements to project operations as needed. All industries employ Project Controllers.

 

Project Controllers report to project managers, operations managers and other upper-management personnel involved in particular projects. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the expected job growth rate for Project Controllers and all management analysts is 14 percent through 2024. The continued need for companies to control costs and maintain efficient operations are the main reasons for this projected growth.

 

Essential Job Functions: (Responsibilities)

 

To fulfill their responsibilities relating to the timely and cost-efficient completion of various corporate projects, Project Controllers must complete a variety of tasks.

 

  • Monitor Project Activities - Project Controllers continually monitor and evaluate each step of a project to ensure that it is meeting budgetary and deadline goals. They report to project managers to discuss the progress of each project and talk about staffing needs, schedule changes, project scope adjustments and more.

  • Oversee Project Budgeting and Scheduling - Two main areas that Project Controllers focus on is budgeting and scheduling. It is up to Project Controllers to assist in setting a project budget and to be involved in assembling a project’s team and setting task schedules.

  • Generate Project Reports - From budget to personnel training reports, Project Controllers are responsible for creating and maintaining reports addressing all aspects of project development and completion. They often present the details of these reports during group or one-on-one meetings with senior managers.

  • Suggest and Manage Changes in Project Processes - Project Controllers need to have the ability to recognize which areas of project development need to be re-addressed in order to maintain efficiency and cost control. They present their ideas to project managers and assume the responsibility of implementing and managing these changes in the project management cycle.

 

Expectations:

 

Successful Project Controllers display strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and written/oral communication skills. They should be detail-oriented team leaders who can consistently meet deadlines and possess the ability to work independently as needed. Computer, interpersonal and customer service skills are necessary. Project Controllers must be able to multi-task and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse work group of vendors, executive managers, subcontractors, consultants and other professionals. In addition to these skills, it is important that Project Controllers display the following capabilities:

 

  • Evaluating step-by-step project management processes.

  • Selecting, training and overseeing project team members.

The completion of all job responsibilities often requires that Project Controllers use or have knowledge of various tools and systems. If you are interested in becoming a Project Controller, you should be able to use the following:

 

  • Microsoft Office applications – from Word documents to spreadsheets, Project Controllers should have strong knowledge of Microsoft applications to create reports and present information in Excel and PowerPoint.

Most employers seek Project Controllers who hold a bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, finance or accounting. They should be trained on or familiar with project administration software and processes. In some cases, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Field Technician Apprentice Tier I - Tier III  (Mesa, Arizona)

 

The position of Telecommunications - Field Engineer handles collecting detailed technical information about existing telecommunications equipment and facilities and other utilities to support outside plant & wireless infrastructure, engineering projects.

Essential Job Functions: (Responsibilities)

  • Conduct field and site visits to collect relevant project information. This will include exact measurements of existing equipment, site details, digital images, staking, etc. which will then be coordinated with the outside plant engineer for further design.

  • Read and interpret client cable records and facility drawings

  • Collect pertinent information to apply for permits and easements.

  • Submit an organized job package for each project that could include maps, field notes, drawings, and digital images.

  • Perform inspections during and after construction to ensure compliance with original designs and customer

Specifications

  • Dress appropriately and always present a professional appearance.

  • Work safely and independent of supervision

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred

TelCyte, LLC is seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor with demonstrated experience in the land development survey industry for our Mesa, Arizona office. The qualified individual will be responsible for developing and managing survey staff, assisting in the growth of TelCyte’s survey division, and securing new work in the marketplace. The individual will also be required to serve as the client liaison on survey projects, mentor survey staff, prepare proposals, invoices, and all other aspects required to successfully manage projects, and effectively collaborate with clients and internal team members for our land development business.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Position has room for executive management growth to oversee national survey division growth with advancement opportunities.

  • Managing scope, schedules, and budgets on land surveying projects for Residential and Commercial Development Projects

CAD Tech Designer Tier 1 - Tier 4 (Mesa, Arizona)

 

Under the direction of the director of engineering or direct supervisor, the telecom computer-aided design (CAD) drafter has the responsibility of drafting complete and accurate A&E drawing sets for the construction and amendment of telecommunication towers, outside plant fiber and coax builds, and small cell systems based on established standards, guidelines, procedures and local building codes. The drafter will need to have advanced knowledge of CAD software and CAD drawings, construction plan details, and elevations.

Essential Job Functions: (Responsibilities)

  • Create and modify A&E drawing packages and permit drawings for wireless tower sites, and outside plant work including equipment in the compound and antenna appurtenances on the tower, existing above and underground utilities, improvements, and running lines for new utilities and OSP plant.

  • Prepare CAD drawings and include construction/amendment details, notes, offsets, layout, running lines, stationing, and setbacks, and plan views/elevations of wireless communication facilities.

  • Develop templates used to create A&E drawing packages.

  • Interpret disclaimer notes within A&E drawings.

  • Collaborate with various internal departments to assist in the successful completion of department projects.

  • Interpret electrical circuit diagrams as needed.

Fiber Optic Outside Plant (OSP) Designer Engineers support our rapid growth. As an OSP Designer Engineer, you will join our highly qualified Engineering team in creating innovative and advanced fiber-optic designs using GIS-based software.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop OSP fiber engineering designs for servicing business and residential markets.

  • Provide engineering preliminary and final fiber layout designs for aerial, buried, and underground construction.

  • Designate the design, sizing, and placement of mainlines, laterals, hubs, splices, splitter cabinets, and terminals.

  • Generate and review documentation related to OSP design, BOMs, plans, specifications, and drawings.

  • Complete GIS updates from field reviews and construction redlines.
